Ok 1st month of 2010 is in the can, productive??

Distraction and Interruption ……these 2 words are the reason why we are not hitting our marks that we gave ourselves on Dec, 31, 2009
It takes 20 minutes to regain focus and momentum when you are interrupted.
Possible distractions for some people: text messages, phone calls, instant messages, facebook, voice mail, EMAIL, etc…sound familiar to anyone? I know they do for me…. how many times a day do we check all these? Multi-tasking – kiss of death in productivity, tested and proven…Google it
Truth is the real issue isn’t these things, It is ourselves!! What conditions have we set to accomplish our goals?? What is the first thing you do in the morning…is it the most important thing to make a better you today and in the future?? Or is it following an agenda given to you by someone else, like the email or text they sent you that morning.
Tips that have helped me turn this issue completely around and live on your agenda:
Schedule these type of interruptions
Do the most important things that you need to do for yourself in blocks of time with no kind of interruptions.
Working out should be treated like a VIP meeting, you don’t want to realize health is VIP once you end up in the hospital, now or years later for not paying attention to it right now! Like my good friend health expert
JP SanPedro from www.cutnation.com always tells me, I’m not a fitness guru, I am a “preventive medicine doctor” in an Under Armour shirt ….lol
Focusing on your career = VIP
Self growth whatever your choice is (ex. book, meditation, praying, education, etc..)= VIP
BUILD VALUABLE RELATIONSHIPS = VIP
Set the environment (conditions) up to support it, plan it, train everyone around you not to interrupt you, and go out and do it! Do what it takes for you and only you…who else will?
Master Yourself, Master Success, then enter Leadership
Here is a 3-step practice designed to help you do just that from www.IntegralLife.com
Step 1: Inquire Within
Take a moment to get quiet, and close your eyes. Reflect on what you most want to create for yourself in 2010. Many things might arise, but see if something surfaces as a top priority. You may have to sit for several minutes before this happens. That is fine. Just listen. Once an intention comes into your awareness that feels most relevant to who you’d like to become in 2010, take out a pen and paper and write it as a powerful statement, starting with the words “This year I will….”
Step 2: Clarify
Attainable goals are no longer fantasies when they contain certain concrete characteristics. These qualities must be specific, measurable, realistic, within your control, and have a timeline. Look at your statement through the following lenses, and make adjustments as needed.
Make It Specific: How can your statement be more specific? Define any subjective terms you used. What do you really mean? How can you make it even more succinct?
Make It Measurable: Is this statement measurable? In other words, how will you know when you have reached your goal?
Make It Realistic: Is the goal you have written down realistic? In other words, is there a high probability that you can realize it this year?
Make It Within Your Control: Is your goal within your control, or does it rely heavily upon other people or good luck for it to be realized?
Give Youself a Timeline: By when do you want to have met your goal? Write it down. Perhaps you discern that you will need to meet certain steps along the way to attain your goal. Write those down, too. To make each of these steps even more powerful, consider them in light of these five characteristics, and make them into powerful statements, as well.
Step 3: Take a Stand
For your final step, share your intention for 2010 with a friend. Making it public will help you turn an internal intention into a powerful declaration about your value and priority in the world. Make an agreement with your friend to check in periodically on how you are aligning with your 2010 intention.
Remember, every action has the power to move you closer or further away from actualizing your 2010 intention. Use your powerful statement as the guiding principle from which you make decisions everyday.
Love from me to you…together we can do BIG THINGS!

I am still a little confused on your post here. Do you believe this? I’m not saying you are wrong, but you will have to create a great discussion to convince people that you’re right.
I do not believe I’d be in a position to do that. But after reading this post here makes me feel a bit like I should do it.
Right and wrong is all relative to someone’s perspective on the matter….I am not trying to convince anyone just merely sharing a perspective that has worked very well for me and others who I feel are successful in many different areas of life. This blog is precisely what you are asking for, a platform for discussion on these topics…please share your perspective, it is very welcomed here…no right and wrongs only constructive ideas shared here.
Much love
Kevin
